The MTC Bookstores will buy back
textbooks from students at any time during normal operating
hours using the standing National Wholesaler's Guide Prices. At
the end of each semester, from the last day of class through the
exam period, the bookstores will conduct a book buyback at which
time books needed by Midlands Technical College during the
up-coming term will be purchased for 50% of the current shelf or
list price providing the book is in good condition.
You must have pictured identification when selling books to
MTC Bookstores.
The bookstores set a buy back allocation on each textbook that
is needed for the upcoming semester. Once an allocation has been
fulfilled, the textbook will then be purchased at the prevailing
national wholesale value. Books not needed for the following
term will also be bought from the students at the current
national wholesale value. MTC Bookstores is not obligated to
purchase workbooks, paperback books that have been written in,
study guides, books with defective or broken interactive floppy
disks or CDs, old edition books and/or overstock books. When
selling your textbooks to MTC Bookstores, it is highly
recommended that all components of a textbook (i.e., floppy
disks, interactive CD Rom, study guides, solutions manuals and
etc.) be returned in order to receive the expected buy back
price of 50% of the shelf or list value. Textbooks that are
missing the required components will be purchased at a lower
price by the bookstores.
Developmental Studies course
textbooks, workbooks and laboratory manuals will not be
purchased at book buyback at the 50% of shelf or list price.
These textbooks cannot be sold to students in a used condition
for an upcoming term unless approved by the appropriate
department chair. These textbooks can only be purchased for
wholesalers provided they hold any value and they are in good
condition for resale.
