Textbooks may be returned for a full refund within the first ten days of each term or within ten days of the date of the receipt, if the purchase is after the beginning of the term. Between the tenth day of class and semester mid-term, books may be returned for 50% of the original purchase receipt.  The original sales receipt and an approved computer-generated withdrawal slip listing the classes dropped, along with a copy of the class schedule, must accompany the textbooks at time of the refund.  New books which have been marked in will be treated as used books.  Textbooks returned any time without an original register receipt will be bought back at prevailing wholesale book prices. Other merchandise may be returned, with a sales receipt, for a full refund or exchange, if the request is made within a reasonable time.  The bookstore manager or the supervisor will make the decision as to refunds. Electronic items returned for exchange or refund must be accompanied by the original sales receipt, the carton, and warranty and instruction papers.  Items returned without the above requirements cannot be accepted for return.  Software is returnable only if the sealed diskette or CD packages are unopened.

Making a purchase for any textbooks and school supplies/merchandise with a personal or business check, MTC Bookstores require that patrons wait at least five (5) business days after the check has been processed before requesting for any portion of a refund.  MTC Bookstores cannot accept checks payable to a second or third party. All checks must be payable to Midlands Technical College or MTC Bookstores.  Also, Midlands Technical College will not accept starter checks or out-of-state checks. There are no exceptions to this policy.
